Privacy Policy

Kumuao.ai ("Kumuao", "we", "us") turns a topic you type into a playable learning game. This policy explains what we collect when you use kumuao.ai, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions: hello@kumuao.ai.
What we collect
- Account information. Your email address. If you sign in with Google, also your name and profile picture as provided by Google.
- What you create. The topics and requests you type, the games we generate from them, whether you shared each game, and any feedback or problem reports you send.
- Plan and usage. How many games you have made this month and today, your plan, and your subscription status, so we can apply free and paid limits.
- Payment information. Payments are handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status; we never see or store your card number.
- Cookies. A sign-in session cookie and a cookie remembering your language choice. Both are needed for the site to work. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and request times) for security and troubleshooting.
Google user data
When you choose "Continue with Google", we request only the basic sign-in permissions (openid, email, profile). We receive your email address, name and profile picture, and use them only to create your account, sign you in, and show who is signed in. We do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, Contacts or any other Google data.
We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models, and we do not share it with anyone except as needed to run the service described here. Kumuao.ai's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we use information
- To run your account and build, store and show your games.
- To send emails you asked for: sign-in links and "your game is ready" notices.
- To bill subscriptions and enforce free and plan limits.
- To fix problems, prevent abuse, and improve game quality using your feedback.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not show ads.
Who we share it with
Only with the service providers that run Kumuao, for the purpose listed:
- Anthropic (Claude): your topic and requests, to generate the game.
- fal.ai: the text of lines a game speaks aloud, to produce the voice audio.
- Resend: your email address and the email content, to deliver our emails.
- Stripe: your email and payment details, to process subscriptions.
- Vercel and Turso: hosting and database storage.
- Google: sign-in, if you choose it.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and of Kumuao.
Shared games
Games are private to you by default. If you turn on Share for a game, anyone with its link can play it and it may appear on our public Shared games page. The request you typed is never shown with a shared game. You can turn sharing off at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and games until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Sign-in links are stored only as a hash and are deleted once used or expired. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except billing records we must keep by law.
Your choices and rights
You can delete individual games from My games. To access, correct, export or delete your data, or to delete your account, email hello@kumuao.ai. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights, including to object to processing or to complain to a data protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for using them.
Children
Accounts are for people aged 13 and over; many of our games are made by parents and teachers for younger children to play under their supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact hello@kumuao.ai and we will delete it.
Security and international transfers
Data is sent over HTTPS, generated games run in a sandbox that cannot read your session, and access to our systems is restricted. Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries; we rely on their contractual safeguards for those transfers.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will notify you by email or on the site. See also our Terms of Service.
