Today, Kumuao is a marketing site with a waitlist. If you join, we collect your email address so we can send you a beta invitation. We never sell or rent your data, we don't run advertising trackers, and you can have your address deleted at any time by emailing us. That's the whole story — the detail below just spells it out.
Email address — when you submit the waitlist form.
A signup source tag — a short label (e.g. waitlist-section,
zh-footer-cta) that tells us which part of the site you signed up from, so we
can understand what's working. It contains no personal information.
Basic request metadata — your IP address and browser user-agent are
processed transiently to rate-limit abuse of the signup endpoint. We don't store these
alongside your email as a profile.
Aggregate, privacy-friendly analytics — anonymous page-view counts via
Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not track you across sites.
Only to operate the waitlist: to send you a beta invitation and the occasional update about Kumuao, to understand which channels bring people in, and to keep the signup form from being abused. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
We never sell or rent your personal data — ever, full stop. We share it only with the service providers that make the waitlist run: Resend (email delivery, United States) stores your address to send our emails, and Vercel (hosting, United States) processes requests and anonymous analytics. Both act on our instructions only. We may disclose data if required by law, but we'll resist over-broad requests.
We keep your email until you ask us to remove it or unsubscribe — there's a one-click unsubscribe link in every email we send. Once you opt out, we delete your address from our active lists. Transient request metadata used for rate-limiting expires automatically within an hour.
Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete the data we hold about you, and to stop emailing you. If you're in the EU/UK (GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA), or China (PIPL), these rights are guaranteed by law and we honour them for everyone regardless. Kumuao is built around child safety, but the product itself is for parents and adults. The waitlist is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted their email, tell us and we'll remove it.
